Clinical & Forensic Social Work | Aging Care Services
I am a Doctor of Clinical Social Work with a specialization in forensics and gerontology. I bring an analytical yet creative approach to identifying and addressing the psychosocial factors that impact functioning, decision-making, and overall wellbeing. All the parts that make up a person (mind, body, and spirit) are considered and integrated into the helping process.
With over 25 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of fields, from the judicial, criminal justice, and education systems to non-profits, healthcare, and mental health. As a Medical Social Worker for nearly two decades, I’ve acquired an understanding of the physical, emotional, and practical challenges of chronic illness, trauma, and end-of-life needs.
My private practice focuses on forensic social work, geriatric care management, and consulting. I specialize in complex matters, including social isolation, undue influence, capacity concerns, and determining whether guardianship and/or conservatorship is appropriate. I also offer clinical supervision and enjoy speaking at professional groups and institutions on topics related to aging, ethics, and legal issues.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and camping. I’m a dreamer, an adventurer, and someone who embraces being unapologetically myself. What you see is what you get.
